Propionate
Testosterone Propionate is one of the oldest testosterone compounds to ever exist; in-fact, Propionate was the first testosterone compound made available on the U.S. market. A rather fast acting testosterone compound, Propionate is comprised of the same testosterone hormone that makes up Testosterone Cypionate, Enanthate and all other forms. The only difference in this form is the Propionate ester as it is removed from the hormone faster than the other forms causing the testosterone to become active faster.
As a testosterone compound, Propionate is perfect for all performance enhancing goals and at one time was a popular testosterone for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) purposes. While still popular among performance enhancing athletes, Propionate is still available for HRT plans; however, it’s rarely used. Most modern day HRT plans will call for large ester testosterone compounds due to the fact they don’t need to be injected as frequently. The injection frequency of Propionate is something that can scare a lot of people off as it will necessarily need to be injected at a minimum of every three days with every other day being far more efficient.
For the performance enhancing athlete, Propionate can promote large buildups in mass and strength and is equally useful when cutting. During the cutting phase it acts as an excellent lean tissue preserver and even aids in body fat reduction due to its ability to promote enhanced metabolic activity. Further, regardless of the purpose of use, cutting or bulking Propionate is an excellent steroid for promoting an enhanced rate of recovery as well as muscular endurance.
Of course, like all anabolic steroids Propionate is far from perfect, there are possible side effects; however, “possible” is the key word. The side effects of Propionate are very easy to control when use is undertaken by a healthy adult male in a responsible fashion; in-fact, responsible healthy adult male use should result in no side effects. In-order to achieve this side effect free use, we must recognize there are possible estrogenic as well as possible androgenic side effects and we must understand how to combat them.
While very common in male performance enhancing cycles, Propionate is not an anabolic steroid that is recommended to women due to high rates of virilization. There are instances where women are prescribed Propionate but it is extremely rare. Nevertheless, some women will still use this steroid for performance enhancing goals and it is the easiest testosterone to control for such a purpose; however, virilization symptoms at some level are almost assured.
Truly the only ones who have any business touching Propionate are healthy adult men and we truly mean adult. Adolescents should not touch this or any anabolic steroid and while adolescents do produce testosterone their fragile and developing androgen systems cannot handle large supraphysiological doses. Adolescents who supplement with Propionate create an environment that will severely damage their androgen system and often in an irreversible way.
